New Project.

Once the conservatory was finished and the Battle of Garston compleated and packed away, I was scratching around for a new project. Unfortunately all my 6mm WW II campaign information was on the old drive which I am hoping soon to be be able to access but until then...

Rummaging around listlessly I came across an unopened jiffy bag which revealed some H&R 6mm Flemish Persians (Achemenid sounds Flemish anyway so over the decades the word has stuck). Further investigation in Narnia revealed another acquired bag full of  H&R 6mm Sassanid Persians and Alexandrian Macedonians (don't ask, I have no idea). So now I have the starts of three different armies.

I am going to base them on 40 x 20's coz they look quite nice on that size and you get 3 LC and 6 EHC on a base...I haven't got any further than that yet although by now the Magic Wash on the Sassy LC should be dry so a-varnishing I will go. Pics next time.

Sounds like a plan! I did wonder about the Flemish at the first read??? lol!

Nice plan :)

As for the Alexandrian Macedonians, I'm guessing that's to distinguish them from the earlier Philipian Macedonians and the later Successor Macedonians - the equipment and "uniforms" did change over time.

True enough Tamsin, but it gives me a excuse, even a tenuous one, to get another army, either Byzantine or late Roman...and of course some more of the Flemish Persians.

heheh you have just given me 3 reasons for not going into my store room and opening the boxes in the cupboard. New projects are to be avoided at my age unless you really mean it hahahah My lead mountain will remain unidentified until the butterfly strikes again. A little itch keeps reminding me I have at least two complete 15mm ancient armies in there somewhere but then I tell myself they are the wrong scale and not a place to revisit. What a complicated hobby!!

Hi Rob, I know what you mean. In the plastic containers that are my lead mountain in 15mm (that I am aware of) I've got half a Byzantine Army, an untouched Viking/Saxon army, a mostly unpainted Mongol army, a Medieval Polish/Hungarian army, all my Napoleonic Prussian artillery and an ACW army. In 10mm I have most of an Ancient British army and in 6mm I have another Polish/Hungarian army, Tibetans, Orcs, Chaos, Egyptian and Hittites...and that's without even looking!
